  258.    The "whale" in Killer Whale is a misnomer, be-cause this animal is actually the largest member of the Dolphin family! But who would like to think of any dolphin as a KILLER (an 8 ton one at that)??

  260.    *Found worldwide, these whales travel in packs called "pods," and when several pods trav-el together it is called a "superpod." Each pod has its own unique set of sounds, or language.
  261.    **When feasting on other whales, they especial-ly favor the lips and tongue. The quarry has even been observed giving up the fight and rolling over to let the Killer Whales have their way, even open-ing their mouths to allow access to the tongue.

  263.    The dorsal fin (larger on males than on females) may be as much as 6 feet tall. They have quite a beautiful appearance, solid black with white eye-brow patches and white belly.
